This summer two of our camps, Camp Conestoga and Camp Tahigwa, were up for a scheduled review by the American Camp Association (ACA) on over 300 standards for health, safety and program quality.
We are happy to announce that once again both camps have passed the ACA accreditation process! This process includes months of preparation, a pre-camp meeting with ACA volunteers to complete a detailed review of all paperwork used throughout camp, and an intense site evaluation at which ACA volunteers review every aspect of camp.
Thank you so much to Camp Director Val Harle and Ranger Gene Averhoff for taking the lead at Camp Tahigwa and thanks to Camp Director Kara Delaney and Ranger Mahlon Sibert for taking the lead at Camp Conestoga.
We are proud to report that through the high standards set by our staff, all four of our camps are accredited, reaffirming our council’s commitment to health, safety and quality programming.
As a leading authority in youth development, the American Camp Association works to preserve, promote, and improve the camp experience. You can learn more about the ACA at their website: www.acacamps.org
