Each year on February 22 Girl Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day. On this day, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries.
World Thinking Day gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships, and is a reminder that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community — one of nearly 150 countries with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
This year’s theme, girls’ worldwide say “together we can save children’s lives” gives girls a chance to take action on issues affecting children’s lives in other countries. This theme is based on Millennium Development Goal 4, which is focused on reducing child mortality rates around the globe.
Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois will celebrate World Thinking Day March 9, 2013 at Journey the World: Thinking About Global Health.
