Outdoor Adventure Weekend at Camp Conestoga
Last weekend, nearly 60 girls and 20 adults experienced a fantastic Outdoor Adventure Weekend at Camp Conestoga! A specific thanks to the 15 volunteers who made all the activities possible. It was a whirlwind event, but we managed to fit in lots of camp favorites including archery, canoeing, zip line, swimming and camp skills (such as campfire safety and fire building). Girls also learned more about Iowa’s habitat during a hike with naturalist Mike Granger from the Wapsi River Environmental Educational Center.
Camp Conestoga Director Einstein and the volunteers were so busy having fun with the campers that they couldn’t take any pictures. If you were able to capture some of the memories made that weekend during Outdoor Adventure Weekend, share them with us! Post photos on our Facebook page or email them to us at info@GirlScoutsToday.org.

Apply to be on the camping subcommittee
We are seeking applications from girls (14-17 years old) and adult volunteers from throughout the council to take part in our camping subcommittee. The camping subcommittee will advise Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois on topics related to Girl Scout camp. The committee represents a critical voice advising on the future direction of Girl Scout camp in eastern Iowa and western Illinois to ensure the best program for girls.
