Girl Scouts know how to have a spooky good time!

There has been a lot happening at our Girl Scout camps this week! These last two weekend, nearly 550 Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors attended Halloween themed events at Camp Conestoga, Camp L-Kee-Ta, Camp Little Cloud and Camp Tahigwa! Girls experienced the thrills of a haunted hay ride or haunted walk, got lots of opportunities to show off their fantastic costumes and made ghoulish snacks and crafts!

These events would not be possible without the support of many volunteers who spend countless hours assisting with set up, volunteering during the event and helping to clean up afterwards. We also have many Program Aides who gain valuable experience leading girls in activities while working towards earning their Program Aide pin, which takes 20 hours of volunteering to lead activities with girls. Thank you to everyone who made these events fun for our Girl Scouts.

Friends of Camp Little Cloud Meeting

In addition to all the events happening at camp, we also had a meeting at Camp Little Cloud.  Volunteers came and shared their ideas to encourage girls to attend both resident camp during the summer, events and overnights during the year. Ten volunteers and summer camp staff attended and from that meeting,  many great ideas were generated to spread the word about how awesome Girl Scout camp is!

Equestrian Program

I’m happy to announce that we will be moving our spring equestrian program to Camp Little Cloud for spring of 2014! This move is happening due to renovations at Camp Conestoga. The spring program will begin on May 5 and will run for five weeks on Saturdays and Sundays. As soon as I have more detailed information I’ll be sure to let you know on right here on the blog!

That’s all for this week of outdoor program with Angela Ventris. Check back next week for more excited news and adventures in outdoor program!
