Take the Journey Challenge!

BURLINGTON GIRL SCOUTS

Have you heard about the It’s Your Planet – Love It! Journey Challenge program that is taking place? If you answered yes, we hope to see your application soon! If you answered no, this post is for you!

Now is your chance to get girls to Discover, Connect and Take Action through the It’s Your Planet – Love It! Journey series. Thanks to funding from the Alcoa Foundation, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are offering free Journey books and a complimentary overnight stay at the Girl Scout Program Center for a limited number of troops.

So how can you be sure to get in on the action?

You have until January 15, 2014 to fill out the application that can be found here. Any Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois troop in kindergarten through 12th grade is eligible. So that means YOU!

Individual Girl Scouts (Juliettes) who are interested will need to find at least 2 other girls to work on their Journey and Take Action project with them in order to be considered, we encourage Juliettes to ask a few friends from school to get together to work on this challenge. We’ll even help those girls become registered Girl Scouts. After all, Girl Scouts is all about working together!

Before applying, please make sure that your troop can meet the requirements, which can be found here. All troops/ groups who are accepted will be expected to meet the deadlines in order to receive their free overnight stay at the Girl Scout Program Center. And trust us; you DON’T want to miss a night at the Program Center! It’s every girls dream!

Please send applications and questions to ForeverGreen@GirlScoutsToday.org.

We look forward to reviewing your application soon!

Happy Holidays! We hope you are enjoying time with family this time of year; our staff are enjoying spending time with family as well. Although you are important to us, we won’t respond to blog comments during the down time of December 21, 2013 – January 1, 2014. Thank you for reading and we’ll see you in 2014!
