We asked our 2013 top five Girl Scout cookie sellers for their selling tips. Here are their tips that may help their Girl Scout sisters meet their goals.:

1. Always sell through your neighborhood (many times throughout the sale). Don’t get discouraged when someone says “No.” or that they purchased from another Girl Scout already. Come back a week or so later to ask if they are out and if they would like to replenish their stash.

2. Smile and politely ask. The main reason people don’t buy cookies is because they haven’t been asked. Have courage and ask :)

3. Make the most of your time at cookie booths. Don’t just stand behind the cookie table. Get out, walk around, and refer to tip #2. As an idea for a cookie booth outside of a grocery store, offer a recipe that uses Girl Scout cookies. They can purchase the cookies at your booth and the rest of the ingredients in the store.

4. Get creative. Create signs promoting the Troop 2 Troop service project like this. Create yard signs like this to market your cookie business throughout the sale! Some Girl Scouts even create Cookie Commercials for their parents to post to their social media profiles. Here is a commercial from an eastern Iowa and western Illinois  Girl Scout who planned, set-up and scripted all by herself to boost her sales.
